Life Lessons From Honey Boo Boo

While my hubs was watching the ever stimulating presidential debate - I decided to occupy my time with something a little more educational

And by educational, I mean brain numbingly stupid

To which you are all saying, "Oh she must be speaking of Honey Boo Boo" - to which I would say...

"You better redneckognize!"
{yes, I skipped the debate  - it was the season finale - sue me}

For those who choose not to educate themselves on the earth shattering words of wisdom from the mouth of sweet little Alaina - let me help you...

{1.} "You have to eat a lot of gravy and rice if you want to be a supermodel."

Apparently eating gobs of starch and sodium help melt those pounds away. Keep eating honey!

{2.} "I wish I had an extra finger, that way I could grab more cheeseballs."
*side note - her sister's new baby has two thumbs on one hand

I smell another talent for them pageants!

P.S. - Was anyone else's first thought not about cheeseball eating ability? Maybe more along the lines of why didn't they have the extra thumb REMOVED?

{3.} "Baby Kaitlyn is so tiny - I poop bigger."

That's momma's little sunshine right there! Probably because of all those cheeseballs - yuck

{4.} "Ain't nothing wrong with being a little gay - everyone's a little gay."

Glad to know you are embracing the LBGT community girlfriend.

{5.} "Baby Kaitlyn came on the biscuit express."

For those who do not speak white trash - a "biscuit" is slang for your whoha...hmm thanks for ruining the thought of ever eating another biscuit again for me Boo Boo

#americasyouth

Don't even get me started on the things that the rest of her inbred family says - they say a picture is worth a thousand words right?

Dear God, the site of June's 43rd chin just does me in
P.S. – June bug {Honey Boo Boo’s momma) is only in her early 30s…rock it girl, rock it!

I hope I look that damn awesome when I become a mother of 4 sgetti eating, baby making, pageant participating, gnat slapping, mud-bogging, breath smellin’ cuties!

All I am saying is if she can get a man {or at least one perchild} than there is hope for anyone!

Fat animals, cyberstalking and a proposal!

Side note: I just realized this post never posted like it was supposed to - so fair warning, it's old - like a week old

Can we still be friends? Even though I have been a bad blog friend and not had a chit chat with you or told you any gossip in WEEKS!?

So let's catch up...with a weekend update!

Saturday my boys played Ole Miss and I can honestly say it was, hands down, the UGLIEST win I have ever seen! But, hey, a W is a W right?!?

We had some fellow Ags over to cheer the boys on and of course we had some yummies...I made red velvet whoopie pies and even though they were mutant pies the size of my face - they were a hit!

{and I have like 100 left - so who wants one?!}

Murphy also got to see his new lady friend Mia
{I'm not sure but I think he is smitten}
{look at that look he is giving me! - "Seriously Mom? Your embarrassing me!"}

{he loves her}

Speaking of dogs - Murphy got lectured at the vet for overeating; And my that, I mean my husband and I got lectured for feeding him too much :/
{How do you say no to those eyes damnit!?}

Sunday was a busy day! I got taken advantage of by Target, but it was worth it because of the super cute new clothes that are now hanging in my closet.
{I promise we do sleep with sheets folks...they were just in the washer}

{be still my heart}
Then we went to church and got to hear Scott Stapp, the lead singer of Creed, speak about his past and his journey to God. Truly an amazing story - I can't wait to buy his new book to read the rest.

We also got a free concert!! "With arms wide open. Under the sunlight. Welcome to this place...." Sing along!

 Lastly, I finally got to attend my first blogger meet up! Thanks so much to the Houston Blogger Social Club for being so friendly {and social}!

We met up at the delicious Tasting Room in the Galleria and chit chatted over the most yummy food!
{my eggs benedict - they were calorie free}

I got to know some the faces that I read about on a daily basis and it was so great.

Also slightly strange, because I felt like a stalker meeting her cyber obsession for the 1st time #lifeofablogger

Here's a group picture from Miss Darby's super cute blog, Life with The Hawleys!

And last, but certainly not least, I got the best surprise in the mail from one of my bestest best friends that I haven't see in so long because she lives in the middle of nowhere Midland, TX!
{Shh, don't tell her I said that!}
I am so happy for her and her soon-to-be hubby and I couldn't be happier that she asked me to share in her special day!! I spy a road trip {or plane ride} to Midland for some wedding planning!
Erin, get my margarita ready!!!

Happy Tuesday! {if there is such a thing}

Foodie PenPal Reveal!

October 1st - seriously where has the year gone!! Did y'all realize that Christmas is only 86 days away?? Wow - now that we are all nauseous

I have been dying to tell y'all about my newest foodie find!! I came across Miss Lindsay {great name huh?!} from The Lean Green Bean and her wonderful monthly swap called Foodie PenPals.

The Lean Green Bean

It's super easy and really a great way to find yummy foods and new friends! Here are the rules:

1. On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.

2. You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
{The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
}

3. You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)

4. Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.

I don't know which was more fun, putting my penpals box together or going through my own box. I seriously had to make myself stop because I could have sent a refrigerator box fun of goodies!

My goodie box was coming from Miss Ashley from Supremely Divine Life and with one look at her blog my stomach was growling and I couldn't wait to get my goodies in the mail. She sent me the sweetest email asking about my likes and dislikes and before I knew it we were chatting about our families!

Needless to say, I was NOT disappointed when my box arrived {from New Mexico}: mmmmmm!

{1.} Apparently New Mexico has pistachio farms and boy am I okay with that. Pistachios are my favorite nuts and I never even told her that. {That's how good of pen pals we are!} I will say these pistachios are some of the yummiest I have had!

{2.} If there is something I love more than salty foods, it's chocolate, so these pistachio chocolate clusters are freaking amazing. I may or may not have taken these home because there were only two and I did NOT want to share!

{3.} These suckers are To.Die.For! {Ashley if you are reading this, where can I get more of these??}
I don't even know what these are honestly lol They are some sort of peanut and the bag is completely in another language! {German I think} They have a crunchy outside coating that is cheesy and salty in a way that shouldn't be allowed! They lasted about 2 seconds at my office and then they were gone :(
I NEED MORE!

{4}
Isn't this the cutest little jar you have ever seen? It is prickly pear cactus honey! {Anybody else immediately start humming the tune to the Bear Necessities?!}
The hubs is the only one who has tried this so far and he really liked it. He says it's just sweet enough!

{5}
Pistachio coffee...who knew there even was such a thing! We don't actually have a traditional coffee maker so we haven't tried this yet, but it's on our list!

{6}
I haven't seen these since I was a kid! We used to put them in our mouth and pretend we were smoking a cigarette {it's better than puffing on a real cancer stick right?!}
They are basically chocolate covered cookie sticks and I could eat the whole box in one sitting they are so good!

{7}
Last but certainly not least, Miss Ashley was sweet and thoughtful with this idea. She knew how much I love homemade stuff and chocolate so she sent me all the ingredients all measured out to make her favorite chocolate cookies! {She was afraid they would melt in the box if she made them} Sadly, I haven't had time to make them yet, but every time I walk by it on the counter my mouth waters!

So a big THANK YOU to Ashley for making me and my coworkers and my husband and my tummy super happy!
